An additional 888 new Covid-19 infections were confirmed on Wednesday, raising the national tally to nearly 10.74 million, according to the Ministry of Health.
According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 39 out of 63 localities in the country with some localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (149), Hai Phong (88), Danang (61), Nghe An (51), Bac Ninh (50), and Yen Bai (45).
As of Wednesday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to nearly 10.74 million.
On June 22, an additional 5,657 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.62 million.
On Wednesday evening, no deaths related to Covid-19 were announced. Total fatalities stayed at 43,084, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.
By June 21, the country had injected more than 226 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including over 6.35 million given to children aged 5 to 11.
