HCM City Children's Hospital
According to a report from local police, the boy who was from Long An Province was taken by his parents to HCM City Children's Hospital at 8 am on June 16 for a health check-up. He was diagnosed to have gastroesophageal reflux disease.
After being informed by doctors about the boy's disease, the mother, 37, wanted to have some further check-ups and tests for her son but the father, 34, didn't agree, the report said. They quarrelled and the father left for the hospital's canteen to wait while the mother took the baby for some further check-ups.
Doctors then concluded that the boy was suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease and lung problems. The woman registered for her son to stay at the hospital for treatment. However, she then brought the baby to the fifth floor and dropped him out a window.
The hospital's guards then found her sitting in a room on the sixth floor and took her to the police.
The woman told the police that her son had weak health and used to cry a lot, affecting her family's life. She also said that she could not afford the hospital treatment for her son so she decided to throw him away.
Initial investigations indicated that the woman was suffering from depression.
