Between May 10-15, lots of northern mountainous areas witnessed rainfall of between 223-304mm, including Cai Chien in Quang Ninh, Loc Binh in Lang Son, Thuong Quan in Bac Kan, Dinh Ca in Thai Nguyen and Binh Lieu in Bac Giang.

From May 22-24, torrential rains continued in the northern and northern central regions with the highest rainfall of up to 925mm in Tam Dao District in Vinh Phuc Province. The rains flooded many areas in Bac Ninh, Hanoi and Vinh Phuc.

Between May 29-31, Hanoi and Thai Nguyen suffered from further inundation.

The Central Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control added that so far this year, Vietnam saw 70 torrential rain storms, 107 earthquakes and two strong cold spells.
