According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the rise in overseas investments of Vietnamese firms came from five large projects by VinES Energy Solutions JSC in the US, Canada, France, Germany, and Holland with investment capital of over USD 34.68 million each.


Other projects saw investment capital increase including Vingroup's project in the US that increased capital by USD 300 million; Dong Duong Rubber Company's project in Cambodia which invested an additional USD76 million, and Vinfast's project in Germany that received additional USD 32 million.

The ministry said that Vietnamese firms were investing in 11 industries overseas in which the processing and manufacturing industry made up 62.4 percent of total capital with eight projects. Some others include mineral exploitation, banking and finance, and information communications.

During the period, Vietnamese firms invested in 16 countries and territories with Laos receiving the largest investment of USD 64.51 million in four projects, followed by Singapore, the US, Germany and Holland.

As of April 20, Vietnamese firms had 1,549 projects overseas with nearly USD 21.55 billion in investment capital.
