The project to restore the 993 square-metre villa on Tran Hung Dao Street in Hoan Kiem District has been officially started from April 28.

The villa in Hanoi is set to be upgraded into a cultural exchange centre
According to the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, the project will be supported by architects and experts from France.
The villas will be turned into the Vietnamese-French cultural exchange centre which is scheduled to be put into operation in 2023. It will also serve as a destination for tourists.
Pham Tuan Long, chairman of Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, said the district will urge units to ensure the project implementation.
The villa is among French-style architectural works built before 1954. It is one of 20 villas in Hanoi to be restored in the 2021-2025 period.
Hoan Kiem District will co-operate with the PRX Institute - Representative of the Ile-de-France region of France on the project’s implementation.
In the coming time, Hanoi authorities will continue to check villas that were built before 1954 to consider their preservation and restoration.
