Nguyen Thi Thuy, 31, from Luong Son District was discharged from Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi on April 25. She has an appointment to return to hospital to be re-examined in the next two weeks.

Thuy tested positive for Covid-19 when she was going to give birth to her fourth child in February. She was taken to Bach Mai Hospital in a critical condition due to the complications of Covid-19.
She experienced two cardiac arrests, so doctors had to carry out an urgent caesarean.

Thuy also suffered from placenta accrete, causing profuse bleeding. As a result, she received around 10 litres of blood via transfusion.
She had to continue staying at Bach Mai Hospital for treatment for another month which was very costly.
