According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 60 out of 63 localities in the country with five localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (941), Phu Tho (493), Quang Ninh (411), Yen Bai (410), and Nghe An (400).

As of Monday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 10,571,772. The country now stands 12th among 225 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include Hanoi (1,541,683), HCM City (608,048), Nghe An (479,985), Binh Duong (384,609), and Bac Giang (383,239).

On April 25, an additional 6,685 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 9,092,760.

On Monday evening, a further eight deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 43,021. The high fatalities were reported in some localities including Quang Nam (4), Binh Thuan (1), Dak Lak (1), Kien Giang (1), and Tay Ninh (1).

Vietnam on April 24 administered 209,325 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, raising the total number of doses given to local people to over 212.60 million.
