Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, Tran Thue Thuan, announced on April 20 that two main high-altitude fireworks displays would be held for 15 minutes from 9 pm on April 30 at the entrance to Saigon River Tunnel in Thu Duc City and Dam Sen Park in District 11.
A number of cultural activities will also take place during the occasion, including music performances and a series of celebrations held to mark the 132nd birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).
Last year, the city had to cancel fireworks shows and other events due to a fast-spreading Covid-19 outbreak. There were no fireworks shows for the Lunar New Year 2021 and 2022.
The Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holiday this year will last four days as the dates coincide with the weekend.
