Lung and her children
Nguyen Thi Lung, 41, is living in poverty with her two sons Tan Dat, 7, and Tan Phat, 4, and her elderly mother in Hoa Binh District.
Lung has mild mental problems and her husband left her three years ago. She even doesn't remember her age and her children's names.
Unfortunately, both of her children are unable to speak. The poor family can't afford to take them to hospital for check-ups and treatment. Tan Phat is seriously malnourished and hasn't been able to walk at the age of four.
Lung has no stable job and mostly lives on support from relatives and neighbours. Therefore, the family often lacks food.
Speaking with Dantri/Dtinews, an official at Vinh Binh Commune said that Lung's family was the most difficult case in the area.
