At Weekend Hanoi Bar in Tran Quoc Toan Street in Hoan Kiem District, DJs, MCs and singers arrived early.
A customer, Ngo Ngoc Anh, 20, came to the bar with a group of friends.
"We are very excited to return to our favourite bar after over a year of them being shut down because of Covid-19 prevention," Anh said. "We really missed the atmosphere here and we’re happy to dance again."
Another young customer, Thanh Huyen in Hai Ba Trung District also shared that she was eager to return to clubs and bars again.
"It's great that the Covid-19 pandemic in Hanoi has passed its peak and nightlife has returned to normal," the young woman said. "I've been waiting for this for too long."
Authorities in Hanoi have allowed the reopening of karaoke parlours, bars, clubs, massage, and gaming venues from April 8.
These places, which are considered high risks for spreading the coronavirus, were shut down in the capital since late April last year when the city was hit by the fourth wave of the pandemic.
