Additional 65,619 Covid-19 infections confirmed on Saturday

According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in all 63 localities in the country with five localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (7,423), Dak Lak (3,999), Nghe An (2,911), Yen Bai (2,883), and Phu Tho (2,770).

As of Saturday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 9,716,282. The country now stands 12th among 225 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include Hanoi (1,489,939), HCM City (596,056), Nghe An (398,008), and Binh Duong (378,296), and Hai Duong (346,361).

On April 2, an additional 106,878 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 7,713,354.

On Saturday evening, a further 37 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 42,563. The high fatalities were reported in some localities including Hanoi (4), Quang Ninh (3), Tra Vinh (3), An Giang (2), Bac Lieu (2), Ben Tre (2), Binh Dinh (2), and Binh Duong (2).
