Vietnam has reported an additional 263,376 Covid-19 infections on Monday, raising the national tally to 9.27 million, according to the Ministry of Health.
According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in all 63 localities in the country with five localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (9,326), Bac Giang (4,186), Nghe An (3,883), Yen Bai (3,795), and Phu Tho (3,493). Hanoi today added 180,000 more cases to the national tally.
As of Monday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 9,274,849. The country now stands 14th among 225 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include Hanoi (1,449,594), HCM City (591,943), Nghe An (390,924), Binh Duong (373,508), and Hai Duong (337,425).
On March 28, an additional 122,730 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 5,474,708.
On Monday evening, a further 52 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 42,358. The high fatalities were reported in some localities including Dak Lak (4), Khanh Hoa (4), Quang Ninh (4), Ben Tre (3), Binh Duong (3), Dong Nai (3), and Ha Tinh (3).
Vietnam on March 27 administered 214,017 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, raising the total number of doses given to local people to over 205.21 million.
