More trains to run on national holiday

Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) will increase trains to meet travel demand on the coming Hung Kings national holiday.

The commemoration of the Hung Kings, the legendary founding dynasty of Vietnam, is on the 10th of the third lunar month every year. This year, it falls on Sunday April 10, so people will have another day off on Monday, April 11.

On this occasion, more trains to tourist sites in Lao Cai, Vinh, Quy Nhon and Phan Thiet will be operated to meet demand.

VNR will add the SP3/SPT2 train service on Hanoi-Lao Cai route during this time. SP3 leaves Hanoi Station at 10 pm on April 8 and arrives at Lao Cai Station at 6:05 am the next day. On the return direction, SPT2 departs Lao Cai Station at 9:40 pm on April 10 and arrives to Hanoi Station at 5:30 am on April 11.

For the Hanoi-Vinh route, the NA1/NA2 service will be conducted. NA1 leaves Hanoi Station at 10:15 pm on April 9 and arrives at Vinh Station at 5:30 am the next day. NA2 departs from Vinh Station at 9:40 pm on April 11 and arrives at Hanoi Station at 5:am on April 12.

Additional train services will be added to the Saigon-Quy Nhon and Saigon-Phan Thiet routes.

Vietnam railways are offering attractive discounts for passenger groups on different routes, depending on the number of passengers and when the tickets are bought.

For instance, groups of 5-10 passengers can enjoy a 20 percent discount when buying tickets on services SE5/6 and SE11/12 between 1 and 4 days before departure. Groups of 11-42 people will receive a 4 percent discount when buying tickets 1-4 days before the SE5/6 and SE11/12 service departure time.
