According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in all 63 localities in the country with five localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (10,803), Phu Tho (4,555), Nghe An (4,023), Yen Bai (3,997), and Dak Lak (3,925). The three northern provinces of Hoa Binh, Bac Giang, and Vinh Phuc today added 22,392, 20,005, and 10,125 more cases respectively to the national tally.

As of Friday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 8,761,252. The country now stands 14th among 225 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include Hanoi (1,240,393), HCM City (589,834), Binh Duong (369,834), Nghe An (368,703), and Hai Duong (332,330).

On March 25, an additional 175,540 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 5,001,564.

On Friday evening, a further 51 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 42,196. The high fatalities were reported in some localities including Ca Mau (5), An Giang (4), Bac Lieu (3), Hanoi (3), Kien Giang (3), Lam Dong (3), Nghe An (3), Quang Ninh (3), and Vinh Long (3).

Vietnam on March 24 administered 344,321 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, raising the total number of doses given to local people to over 204.56 million.
