The line has served 10,000 passengers per day on average with 35,000 at weekends over the past week, up 30 percent against previous months. Half of the passengers are using monthly travel passes.
Passengers on Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro route
According to Truong, Hanoi’s flexible adaptation to the Covid-19 pandemic along with the reopening of business activities and schools were among the major causes for the line’s passengers.
The resumption of Hanoi’s bus network has also made it more convenient for people to access the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line.
The route’s passenger number is expected to double in the coming time as all schools in the city have reopened following a long closure due to Covid-19.
Fifty-four bus routes currently connect to Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line.
