The central province of Quang Nam faced two consecutive earthquakes within 20 minutes early this morning, March 11.
According to the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre, the earthquakes occurred in the mountainous district of Bac Tra My.
The first one measuring 2.9 on the Richter Scale happened at around 1:48 am at a depth of 8.3 kilometres, while the other at around 2:07 am had a depth of 8.2 kilometres.
Local residents could feel the shakes for a few seconds.
These have been the first earthquakes in Bac Tra My so far this year.
The locality has previously witnessed many earthquakes of differing severity.
