Hanoians rush to buy petrol due to impending price rise

Many petrol stations in Hanoi were jammed on Thursday evening as crowds rushed to buy fuel due to an imminent price increase.

Global petroleum prices have continued rising, which is expected to result in another price hike today, March 11.

People queued at a petrol station in Cau Giay District to buy the fuel.

 

On Thai Thinh Street 

Nguyen Tuyen from Ha Dong District said that it took him up to 30 minutes to buy petrol. He saw some people buying large amounts to save money.

Lines of people were also seen at many other petrol stations in Hanoi at around 8 pm on Thursday.

The same situation happened in Hanoi in May 2020 following information about a sharp rise in petroleum prices.
