The southern province of Long An has become the first locality in Vietnam to permit Covid-19 patients (F0) to go to work.

Under the decision, F0 and F1 can go to work to carry out urgent tasks of their agencies, if they display no symptoms. This must be approved by their managers.

This is aimed to ease the labour shortages at many local companies to ensure their contracts are signed with their partners.

However, F0 and F1 cases need to strictly conform to Covid-19 prevention measures as regulated. They have to go to work by individual vehicles, not public transport, and not have contact with other people during this time.

They are also asked to update people on their health to local medical staff.

Speaking at a meeting on March 9, chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee, Phan Van Mai also said that Covid-19 patients without symptoms can go to work.

The official said that HCM City is witnessing a sharp rise in new Covid-19 infections. However, the pandemic remained under control.
