
On Sunday, many families took their children to play around the Ly Thai To Flower Garden near Hoan Kiem Lake.

Nguyen Thi Huyen in Ba Dinh District said that she and her husband decided to take their two children here to enjoy the sunny and warm weather after many cold winter days.

"They had been kept indoors for so long due to the pandemic and cold weather," Huyen said. "Now we have been all vaccinated against Covid-19 so we are not so afraid of the disease like before."

Another parent, Truong Van Vinh said that he took his small children to play around at some public places here as it is free and near to his house.

"My income has been badly affected by the pandemic so I could not take my family on holidays," Vinh said. "My children also enjoyed scooting on the pavement around the Hoan Kiem Lake or running around the Ly Thai To Garden."

Many people went jogging around Hoan Kiem Lake.

Ngoc Son Temple also received a large number of visitors.

A long line of visitors queued for health declaration and body temperature taking at the Temple of Literature.

Many tourist groups came to the Temple of Literature on Sunday afternoon without following safe-distance regulations.

Hanoi has re-opened local tourist sites from February 14, attracting an increasing number of visitors.

The capital city is still the country's biggest Covid-19 epicentre with tens of thousands of new infections reported daily. On Sunday the city confirmed 11,517 new cases, raising the total number of patients to 259,100.
