Petroleum prices continue rising

Retail petrol prices have increased from 3 pm on Monday, marking the third consecutive rise since December 25 last year.

Under the decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, the retail prices of E5 RON 92 and E5 RON 95 petrol increased by VND960 per litre to VND25,530 and VND26,280 respectively.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel and kerosene increased by VND940 and VND750 per litre to VND20,800 and VND19,500 respectively.

Mazut oil saw a rise of VN280 per kilo to VND17,930.

Lots of petrol stations in many southern cities and provinces had again suspended sales before the price hike.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to work with the Ministry of Finance to ensure domestic petroleum supplies as well as tightening control over petroleum business activities to detect speculation.
