According to the ministry's report, 26,471 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 62 out of 63 localities in the country with five localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (2,908), Nghe An (1,501), Hai Duong (1,447), Hai Phong (1,398), and Bac Ninh (1,390). There were 16 imported cases confirmed the same day.

The new infections showed an increase of 448 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 8,768 infections found in the community.

As of Friday evening, 2,450,024 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (515,369), Binh Duong (293,145), Hanoi (162,643), Dong Nai (100,022), and Tay Ninh (88,690). Vietnam has so far confirmed 192 Omicron-infected cases.

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 2,457,170. The country now stands 34th among 225 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.

On February 11, an additional 6,075 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 2,212,669.

On Friday evening, a further 96 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 38,784. The high fatalities were reported in some localities including Hanoi (14), Kien Giang (10), Binh Dinh (6), Hoa Binh (5), Vinh Long (5), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (4), and Can Tho (4).

Vietnam on February 10 administered 704,066 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 184.86 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, including over 74.61 million people having received two doses and over 31.06 million people having received three doses.
