According to the Southern Airports Authority, 39 flights took off between 6 am-8 am, while 19 flights were conducted between 10 am-12 pm and 36 flights between 2 pm-4 pm.

On January 25, the airport operated 706 flights which transported over 65,300 passengers.

The sharp rise in the number of passengers has been reported right after the Ministry of Transport removed the Covid-19 testing requirements for all passengers except those who live in the areas or come from airports listed as high risk of Covid-19 infection.

The Ministry of Health has also asked local authorities nationwide to stop quarantining people returning home for Tet Holiday, which has also added to the rising travel demand.

To ease the overcrowding, Tan Son Nhat Airport has created separate entrances for passengers from different airlines.

Passengers of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco will enter Gate D2. Passengers of Vietravel Airlines, Bamboo Airways will enter Gate D3 while those going with Vietjet Air will enter Gate D6-D8.
