Nguyen Anh Thu from Mytour Company said that the firm’s package tours to HCM City’s Cu Chi and Can Gio districts and the neighbouring provinces of Long An and Ben Tre were attracting tourists due to their affordable prices.

According to Saigontourist, around 3,000 customers have booked tours to HCM City, a surge after the city’s tourism industry resumed in October.

Vietravel has also received bookings for tours to HCM City from 2,500 customers and the figure is expected to reach around 5,000 in the days to come.

Discounts have still been offered for tours to many HCM City tourist sites on the Lunar New Year, including the Cu Chi Tunnels. Meanwhile, local accommodation service providers have given tourists 30-50 percent discounts during the Lunar New Year period.

Earlier, Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the municipal Department of Tourism, said that if the pandemic was brought under control well in 2022, the city’s tourism sector would receive an expected 3.5 million foreign travellers and 25 million domestic visitors and have a revenue of VND97.7 trillion (USD4.24 billion).
