Over six tonnes of ivory and pangolin scales have been illegally brought in from Nigeria to Danang's Tien Sa Port.
According to the Danang City Customs Department, the discovery was made when they checked a container that arrived at Tien Sa Port from Nigeria and found a large amount of ivory and pangolin scales.

"The container, that was declared to be transporting cashew nuts from Nigeria, arrived at the port on January 5," the department said. "But as we checked it on January 11, we found 456 kilos of ivory and 6.2 tonnes of pangolin scales hidden inside. These goods are banned from transport following the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species."
Danang City Customs Department is co-operating with local authorities to deal with the case.
