According to Vietnam Airlines, from January 17 to February 15, the carrier will carry apricot and peach blossoms on domestic flights. The transport fee will be VND495,000 (USD21.52) per branch, including VAT.
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines have announced plans to sell apricot and peach blossoms for the coming Tet Lunar New Year
The branches of apricot or peach blossoms need to be a maximum of 150cm x 40cm x 40cm and are considered as check-in luggage.
Each passenger is permitted to check-in 1-2 branches of apricot or peach blossoms which must be wrapped carefully to ensure safety during transportation.The firm will also offer a service to sell apricot and peach blossoms on its e-commerce platform called VNAMall available at vnamall.vietnamairlines.com.
From January 1, people can order apricot and peach blossoms online and the products will be delivered to their home in Hanoi or HCM City before Tet.
Vietnam Airlines said that with this service, people in the north can buy southern apricot branches and those in the south can have peach blossoms.
Airlines previously announced plans to operate nearly 50 domestic air routes from January 1 with a higher flight frequency on many routes to meet the demand for Tet.
Vietnam Airlines has reopened some regular foreign commercial routes, including to the US, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. It has been willing to resume the operation of flights to Europe and Australia in January.
