According to the Ministry of Health’s Preventive Medicine Department, the carrier is a passenger who arrived in Hanoi from the United Kingdom on December 19. The patient was immediately quarantined after he landed in the country, and has not had any contact with the public. The patient is now being treated at the Military Hospital 108. Currently, he is still in stable health.

The Covid-19 testing in Hanoi

All 165 passengers on the same flight with him have also been sent to quarantine sites for Covid-19 prevention. Most of the passengers are from Hanoi and Nghe An and two other localities.

Professor Phan Trong Lan, head of the Preventive Medicine Department, said that all of the passengers have been quarantined so there is no risk for the community infection.
