The move has followed the city’s rise in new Covid-19 cases.

Under the Hanoi Department of Health’s decision, the drug will be used for Covid-19 patients who are 18 or older and display no or mild symptoms. The priority will be given to people aged over 50 or those with underlying medical conditions.
Dong Da General Hospital has been assigned to distribute Molnupiravir for other local hospitals and medical stations of wards and communes.
The medical stations then will make a list of Covid-19 patients who are eligible for using the drug. In case of facing more serious conditions during the drug use, Covid-19 patients will be sent to hospitals of higher level.
By late Thursday, Hanoi had recorded a total of 32,000 Covid-19 patients, including more than one third being the community-acquried infections.
