People who enter Vietnam from abroad should be exempted from being quarantined for Covid-19 prevention when they are fully vaccinated and test negative for Covid-19.

This is the proposal of representatives from several embassies in Vietnam at a meeting with Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan on Wednesday on the plan to reopen the regulation of commercial international flights.

Fully-vaccinated people who enter Vietnam from abroad should be exempted from being quarantined for Covid-19 prevention

According to representatives from embassies, Vietnam should create favourable conditions for the entry of arrivals from foreign countries. Fully vaccinated people and those who have recovered from Covid-19 with the negative Covid-19 testing result could be exempted from the quarantine when coming to Vietnam.

Under the current regulations, these people have to self-isolate for three days either at home, hotels or other facilities, instead of entering quarantine sites for seven days as before.

The self-quarantine time for people who have not yet received the full vaccination is seven days.
