
The road tour departing from Ho Chi Minh City was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the municipal tourism department.

The visitors went sightseeing at the local rivers, learned about local people's lives and traditional crafts, and enjoyed local specialities including a good variety of fruits.

Hamind Mosadeghi from the Iranian Embassy in Hanoi said that this was the first time he had visited this Mekong Delta province and was really impressed by the beautiful scenery and people here.
"I will introduce this beautiful place to my family and friends in Iran," he said. "The people here are very friendly and creative. They have created many cool and unique products from their coconut trees.

Vice consul of the Republic of Vanuatu in HCM City, Tran Manh Dan said that he loved the peaceful villages and the tasty foods in Ben Tre.

"I really enjoyed the time we cruised along the river," he said. "From our boat, we could watch the lush gardens with lots of fruit trees, breathe fresh air and eat many local dishes made from fish, shrimps, vegetables and fruits. I've heard about Ben Tre but this place is much more beautiful than I imagined."

Leaving the rivers and water coconut palm forests, visitors were transported by three-wheeled vehicles to visit some villages.

This mat-making village is a popular tourist destination in Ben Tre.

According to Nguyen Huu Y Yen, director of the tour operator Saigontourist, this is one of the package tours they are providing after the social distancing rules period were eased in HCM City.
"These kinds of ecological tours focus on sightseeing and food, which aims to help visitors relax and regain energy during the pandemic," he said. "We're paying attention to Covid-19 prevention to ensure safety for visitors and local people."
