USD208m road project near Tan Son Nhat airport approved

HCM City authorities have approved a VND4.8 trillion (USD208 million) road project which is expected to help reduce traffic congestion around Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

HCM City authorities have approved a VND4.8 trillion (USD208 million) road project which is expected to help reduce traffic congestion around Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The 4.4km-long road with six lanes will link Tran Quoc Hoan Street and Cong Hoa Street in Tan Binh District. It is scheduled to be conducted between December this year and 2024.

The Tran Quoc Hoan-Cong Hoa road project is expected to help ease traffic congestion around Tan Son Nhat International Airpot


The project will also include two two-lane underground tunnels at the intersections of Phan Thuc Duyen and Tran Quoc Hoan streets, and Truong Chinh and Tan Ky Tan Quy streets, as well as a 987-metre flyover in front of the airport’s new Terminal 3.

The project’s investment capital will be from the city’s budget. The total area for the project is around 15.5 hectares.

Tan Binh District and the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment have been urged for site clearance to hand over the land for the project implementation.
