Launched in April but suspended due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Baseball Cage reopened recently in District 7. This is the first coffee shop to provide baseball in HCM City. It is attracting lots of customers who love baseball.

Most of Baseball Cage’s customers are young including lots of foreign people. Customers pay VND 28,000 for each game of three minutes.

Those who don't know how to play will get instructions from the cafe staff.

The owner of the coffee shop, Le Van Tung, said that he opened the baseball court inside the coffee shop because he loves the sport. "I want to create a space for people to play the sport which is still new to many in Vietnam," he said.

A customer, Pham Thuy Phuong Nghi said that she has just started to learn to play this sport and really enjoyed it. "I'm coming here whenever having free time to play baseball here," Nghi said. "It helps me relax well after hard work."

Vu Trung Duc is among a group of 60 baseball players in HCM City. He said that they usually played with teams from South Korea and the US who are living and working in the city but there are few courts for them to practise.
"I think this model is a good idea which creates a good place for beginners and veteran baseball players to come for practising and training," he said. "This is a very good sport and I believe that more local people will play it in the coming time."
