Vietnam has continued to report a rise in the number of Covid-19 infections found in the community with 7,288 out of 13,109 new cases confirmed on Friday, according to the Ministry of Health.
According to the ministry's report, 13,094 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 60 out of 63 localities in the country including HCM City (1,809), Can Tho (897), Binh Duong (707), Tay Ninh (655), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (653), Dong Thap (601), Bac Lieu (566), Dong Nai (556), Vinh Long (536), Ben Tre (501), Binh Thuan (496), Soc Trang (493), Kien Giang (418), An Giang (387), Ca Mau (374), Tra Vinh (309), Binh Phuoc (271), Hanoi (253), Hau Giang (238), and Khanh Hoa (216). There were 15 imported patients confirmed today.
The new infections showed an increase of 665 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 7,288 infections found in the community.
As of Friday evening, 1,176,148 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (464,180), Binh Duong (279,487), Dong Nai (85,064), Long An (37,829), Tien Giang (24,362).
With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 1,181,337. The country now stands 37th among 223 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.
On November 26, an additional 12,368 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 955,256.
On Friday evening, a further 137 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 24,544. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM City (60), Tien Giang (13), An Giang (13), Tay Ninh (9), Binh Thuan (8 ), Kien Giang (7), Soc Trang (4), Vinh Long (4), Dong Nai (3), Dong Thap (3), Can Tho (3), Dak Lak (2), Bac Lieu (2), Tra Vinh (1), Nghe An (1), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (1), Long An (1), Ben Tre (1), and Ca Mau (1).
Vietnam on November 25 administered more than 2.40 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 116.32 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 47.39 million people having received two doses.
