DTiNews readers support ailing mother and children in Ha Tinh

Readers of Dantri/DTiNews have donated VND102 million (USD4,434) for a family in the central province of Ha Tinh in which the mother has been bed-ridden for years, while her children are facing mental problems.

A Dantri/DTiNews reporter granted the donation on Wednesday to Nguyen Thi Lien’s family in Vu Quang District’s Huong Minh Commune.

The donation came after an article about the family was published by Dantri/DTiNews.

Lien, 71, has five children, including one who died from a serious illness. Two sons aged 32 and 30 are suffering from mental problems.

In 2019, after struggling with diseases for many years, her husband died. Meanwhile, Lien is facing diabetes which has left her bedridden.

 

Lien has been bed-ridden for a long time

Nguyen Thi Hoa Lai, Lien’s daughter, had to quit her job in the southern region to return to Ha Tinh to take care of her mother and younger brothers.

Doan Ngoc Luong, chairman of Huong Minh Commune, said that Lien’s family is among the poorest in the locality. He hoped that more donors can join hands to support them.
