The route which started operating from November 6 offered free travel until the end of November 21.

At the peak hour of around 7 am on November 22, stations of the route saw small numbers of passengers.

The route’s Cat Linh Station was quite deserted on Monday morning.

One carriage had no passengers when the train left Cat Linh Station.

Passenger Nguyen Van Anh who boarded the train at Cat Linh said the monthly pass of VND200,000 was quite reasonable for him.

The trains had just a few passengers at many stops on Monday morning. The company has arranged 100 staff to instruct people how to buy tickets.

A rare carriage was full of passengers this morning.

Vu Hong Truong, General Director of Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Company, said that on November 6-20, the firm operated 2,554 trips on the route, transporting 380,510 passengers.

Some passengers chose to use the service today to avoid crowds during the free travel test period.
