According to the ministry's report, 9,518 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 60 out of 63 localities in the country including HCM City (1,046), Binh Duong (669), Dong Nai (621), Dong Thap (515), Tay Ninh (495), Binh Thuan (407), Soc Trang (391), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (370), Bac Lieu (345), Ca Mau (342), An Giang (329), Vinh Long (297), Tra Vinh (281), Binh Phuoc (256), Kien Giang (246), Tien Giang (243), Hanoi (234), Dak Lak (205), Can Tho (201), Hau Giang (188), Khanh Hoa (158), Ben Tre (131), Long An (112), Lam Dong (106), and Gia Lai (103). There were 13 imported patients confirmed today.
The new infections showed a decrease of 99 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 4,776 infections found in the community.
As of Saturday evening, 1,079,529 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (455,107), Binh Duong (247,337), Dong Nai (81,688), Long An (37,231), Tien Giang (23,724).
With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 1,084,625. The country now stands 37th among 223 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.
On November 20, an additional 16,773 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 900,337.
On Saturday evening, a further 107 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 23,685. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM City (42), An Giang (14), Dong Nai (7), Kien Giang (5), Binh Thuan (4), Long An (4), Tien Giang (4), Can Tho (4), Thanh Hoa (3), Tay Ninh (3), Dong Thap (3), Bac Lieu (3), Vinh Long (3), Ca Mau (2), Ninh Thuan (2), Soc Trang (2), Hanoi (1), and Tra Vinh (1).
Vietnam on November 19 administered more than 1.66 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 106.54 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 40.05 million people having received two doses.
