According to the ministry's report, 8,129 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 55 out of 63 localities in the country including HCM City (1,276), Dong Nai (923), Binh Duong (619), Soc Trang (572), An Giang (557), Dong Thap (379), Kien Giang (291), Ca Mau (285), Binh Thuan (279), Hanoi (268), Tay Ninh (241), Bac Lieu (232), Tien Giang (207), Dak Lak (197), Tra Vinh (180), Can Tho (163), Vinh Long (154), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (154), Ha Giang (127), and Binh Phuoc (108). There were four imported patients confirmed today.

The new infections showed an increase of 175 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 3,952 infections found in the community.

As of Tuesday evening, 979,840 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (441,216), Binh Duong (240,347), Dong Nai (74,065), Long An (35,990), and Tien Giang (18,703).

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 984,805. The country now stands 38th among 223 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.

On November 9, an additional 1,325 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 842,800.

On Tuesday evening, a further 88 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 22,686. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM City (38), Binh Duong (11), An Giang (7), Kien Giang (5), Tay Ninh (4), Bac Lieu (4), Dong Nai (3), Long An (3), Can Tho (3), Tien Giang (2), Lam Dong (1), Binh Thuan (1), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (1), Dong Thap (1), Vinh Long (1), Hau Giang (1), Hanoi (1), and Soc Trang (1).

Vietnam on November 8 administered more than 1.53 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 92.21 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 30.30 million people having received two doses.
