The government has just decided to call for foreign investment into some transport projects in the central highlands and southern regions.
The list of projects named in the decision to call for foreign investment during the 2021-2025 period recently signed by PM Pham Binh Minh included the Chon Thanh-Dak Nong railway, the Buon Ma Thuot-Nha Trang Expressway, and the Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway.
The Chon Thanh-Dak Nong railway has a total length of 67 kilometres and width of 1.435 metres. The project which connects the southern province of Binh Phuoc to the central highlands province of Dak Nong has a total investment of USD 715 million and will be built following the public-private partnership.
The Buon Ma Thuot-Nha Trang Expressway will have a total length of 113 kilometres. It is designed with six lanes, allowing speeds of 80-120km/h, and an estimated investment of over USD 1.2 billion. The project aims at better connecting the central highlands and the southern central regions to boost the economic and tourism development of the area.
The Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway will be a section of the Dau Giay-Lien Khuong Expressway. It will help complete the southern transport network from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat. The USD 268 million 60-kilometre four lane Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway project.
The government has asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to work with local authorities in these localities to carry out the projects.
