
Health workers take samples for Covid-19 testing in Bac Lieu Province
According to the ministry's report, 6,576 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 49 localities including HCM City (981), Binh Duong (948), Dong Nai (939), Kien Giang (478), An Giang (381), Tien Giang (263), Tay Ninh (240), Dak Lak (210), Soc Trang (198), Binh Thuan (194), Can Tho (186), Long An (178), Tra Vinh (123), Ha Giang (110), and Hanoi (100). There were four imported patients confirmed today.
The new infections showed an increase of 401 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 2,889 infections found in the community.
As of Thursday evening, 941,159 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (435,717), Binh Duong (236,241), Dong Nai (69,138), Long An (35,360), and Tien Giang (17,479). The outbreak has so far spread to 62 out of 63 cities and provinces nationwide.
With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 946,043. The country now stands 40th among 223 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.
On November 4, an additional 1,731 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 835,406.
On Thursday evening, a further 59 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 22,342. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM (28), Binh Duong (13), Dong Nai (3), Tien Giang (3), Long An (2), Kien Giang (2), Can Tho (2), Tra Vinh (2), Bac Lieu (1), Dak Lak (1), Hanoi (1), and Ninh Thuan (1).
Vietnam on November 3 administered more than 774,054 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 84.88 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 26.07 million people having received two doses.
