Due to the pandemic, the city’s Halloween atmosphere was less exciting than usual. However, lots of people still flocked to the streets to enjoy the celebration.

At around 7 pm on Sunday, Nguyen Hue was full of people.


After the social distancing regulations were eased in HCM City, Nguyen Hue Pedestrian has become busy again.

Some children were dressed as princesses and fairies.

Some people did their costumes and make-up on the street.

Tran Than Thien, 28, dressed as Star Wars villain Darth Maul.

"Every year, I come to Nguyen Hue Street to enjoy the Halloween atmosphere. This year, I spent VND4 million to have this costume made,” Thien said.

Xuan Nghi (right), who was brought to the street by her mother, looked very happy with the Halloween costume.

Thanh Binh in District 8 said that she and some other neighbour’s took their children out after they had been forced to stay home for a long time due to Covid-19.
