Many restaurants in Hanoi started to receive customers on Wednesday morning after nearly three months of suspension due to Covid-19 prevention.

A noodle restaurant on Nguyen Son Street received its first customers right after opening at 6 am.

A customer, Nguyen Thi Phuc and her husband said that this was their favourite restaurant so they decided to return for breakfast when hearing about the reopening.
"We miss the flavour and taste of the noodles here so much that we needed to come despite the heavy rain this morning," she said.

The restaurant owner, Pham Thi Thuy said that she was delighted that she could serve dine-in customers again.
"We’ve reopened for take-away orders for some time, but it can be inconvenient working that way," she said. "Many people like to be served at the restaurant more than using take-away services.

Thuy said that she is strictly following instructions by local authorities to ensure Covid-19 prevention at the restaurant.
“All the staff and I have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19," she said. "We've installed barriers between tables and are only operating at half capacity to ensure a safe distance between customers. Customers are required to submit electronic health declarations during their time on the premises."

Customer motorbikes parked in front of a noodle restaurant on Hang Dong Street.

All the seats were full (only half the seats are used to ensure safe distancing). Some customers said that a hot bowl of noodles tasted even better as Hanoi turned cold today.

The restaurant owner, Bui Anh Tuan, said that they had to work late yesterday night and got up early this morning to prepare for the reopening.

Besides restaurants, cafes also received their first customers after a long time.
