Ly Thi Khon, 43, from Na Ri District’s Xuan Duong Commune is taking care of her son Hua Van Cuu, 21, at Bac Kan General Hospital.

Cuu has been bed-ridden following a traffic accident three months ago.
Right after the accident, he underwent surgery at Thai Nguyen General Hospital. After that, he has been staying at Bac Kan General Hospital. However, he is now in critical condition along with brain injuries and pneumonia. Doctors said that he needs better treatment elsewhere, but his family can’t afford it.
Khon said that she had sold all her assets worth anything and took loans to cover the treatment.
Khon’s family depends on farming alone and her and her husband’s health is not good.
According to Sam Tu The, a doctor from Bac Kan General Hospital, Cuu is suffering from high fever and convulsive fits due to pneumonia. He is facing a high risk of death.
Lo Van Le, vice chairman of Xuan Duong Commune, said that Khon’s family is very poor. Cuu’s disease has added to the family’s difficulties.
