At midnight Tuesday, barriers at lanes 328 and 330 on Thanh Xuan Trung Ward’s Nguyen Trai Street were lifted after the quarantine which had lasted for more than one month.

Hanoi authorities have removed the lockdown in Thanh Xuan Trung Ward, the city’s biggest Covid-19 outbreak spot
"I had to stay in the cordoned off area for over the past month. I’m delighted to be able to return home now. We tried our best to bring Covid-19 under control in the locality,” said Tran Thi Hong from Thanh Xuan Trung Medical Station.
However, after returning home, Hong and other people who served Covid-19 prevention and control activities in the ward have to experience a seven-day quarantine at their home.
The two first Covid-19 cases were reported in Thanh Xuan Trung on August 22. The pandemic then quickly spread to the ward with a total of nearly 600 cases.
After the lockdown was lifted, 1,100 local residents will be permitted to return to their homes after finishing a 21-day quarantine in the Hoa Lac area.
