44-year-old Tran Thanh Hung
Tran Thanh Hung, 44, smiled brightly when he was able to take his boat out and clean up his oyster farm. He was also happy to be able to cast the net again in two months.
"The pandemic has been harsh on everyone. This farm is my everything. I only want the outbreak to be controlled so that life can become easier," he said.
Cleaning up the farm
Le Huu Tinh said during the past two months, he did not return home and chose to live on the boat to look after the oyster farm. After social distancing rules were eased, he went home to see his family, take some necessities and returned to the farm immediately.
Fishermen happy to return to work
Bui Van Khanh, 19, said, "I’ve asked other people to buy food for me in the past two months. I miss the sea."
Thanh An Commune has122 fishing households with 193 fishermen.
Fishing at night
Thanh An People's Committee said people who work in the aquaculture industry must have at least one vaccine dose and must be tested once every five days. They must register their production plans with the authorities for a travel permit and must not travel anywhere else besides home and workplace unnecessarily.
