The information was given at a meeting between the provincial people’s committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Thursday.

Tourists in Phu Quoc City
The province’s tourism resumption will be divided into two phases. The first phase will last for six months, starting from November 20. In which, from November 20 to December 20, the city plans to welcome visitors with the Covid-19 vaccine passport through 1-3 daily charter flights.
Between December 20 to March 20 next year, the city will receive 3,000-5,000 tourists per month through charter flights.
During the second stage slated from March 20 to June 20, 2022, the city plans to serve 5,000-10,000 visitors per month, including foreigners.
To date, 17 hotels, five travel and entertainment service firms in Phu Quoc have registered to participate in the local tourism resumption activities. However, according to Huynh Quang Hung, chairman of the municipal people’s committee, the biggest difficulty for the locality regarding the reopening of tourism services was the low Covid-19 vaccine coverage among local residents.
Under Hung’s proposal to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Phu Quoc should be considered to receive local visitors who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in the time to come.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet said that at present it is important to Phu Quoc to ensure the Covid-19 vaccination.
The city is facing a new Covid-19 outbreak with more than 60 patients reported in two days from September 22 and 23.
