The dyke along Hoai River has seriously deteriorated

Local authorities have zoned the section to ensure safety.

Seven other spots along the dyke also face the same situation.

The 780-metre dyke project was started in 2015 and also includes other parts such as river dredging, pavement and drainage system, road surface and lighting system upgrade in Hoi An City.

Put into operation in March 2017, the dyke has become a pedestrianised area for visitors. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of tourists came there every day.

The management board of Quang Nam’s construction projects, the investor of this project, said that the agency was investigating the causes of the dyke deterioration.
