The information was given by vice-chairman of the municipal people’s committee Chu Xuan Dung at a meeting with Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen on Wednesday.
The city has continued speeding up the Covid-19 testing for local residents, and the number of new Covid-19 cases has been falling. The majority of the city’s new Covid-19 cases have been found at quarantined and blocked areas these days.
The Covid-19 testing in Hanoi
On August 25, the city confirmed up to 73 local Covid-19 infections, but the figure dropped to only four on September 12.
Hanoi has received 5.4 million Covid-19 vaccines from the Ministry of Health.
The city also has made preparations to quarantine up to 120,000 people and 40,000 sick beds if necessary.
“We are confident to say that Hanoi has basically controlled the pandemic,” Dung emphasised.
Tuyen highly appreciated Hanoi’s efforts in Covid-19 prevention and control activities, particularly in the speeding up of Covid-19 testing and vaccination.
Tuyen, however, asked Hanoi to pay attention to Covid-19 preventive measures at industrial parks. All local enterprises need to work out pandemic prevention and control plans and leaders of these firms have to promise to local authorities or the management board of industrial parks that they would implement the correct measures.
