Hanoi to carry out Covid-19 testing for all local residents
The city authorities will carry out mass screen tests to find more Covid-19 infections and expanding virus-free zones. They aim to test all local residents from September 6 to 12. People in locked-down areas and quarantine centres will be tested once every two to three days. People in high-risk areas will be tested once every five to seven days. People in other areas must be tested at least once. The number of mobile testing units will be increased.
Another goal is to give all adults in the city a first vaccine shot by September 15. Priority for the second shots will be given to frontline workers, the elderly, people with underlying diseases, and pregnant women. Administrative procedures will be simplified. The Department of Health will be responsible for managing and regulating the work across districts and wards.
Ward and district authorities must have plans to protect virus-free zones in their areas, ensuring food and medicines for the residents while directing firms to operate safely amid the pandemic.
Businesses and production activities will be maintained in low-risk zones. Transportation will not be hindered to boost economic development.
