
Tan Lap Commune, which is home to 25,000 people, has been put under quarantine since Saturday. Up to 27 Covid-19 check-points have been set up in the locality.

Nguyen Van Hoc, chairman of the commune said that the move follows a local Covid-19 infection of a 75-year-old man.


Local authorities have defined 17 people who had closed contact with the patient and all of these have been sent to quarantine sites. People in vulnerable areas will be provided with quick Covid-19 testing.

Alley 93 where the patient’s house is located is being put under strict control.

More than 1,200 people have been given the quick Covid-19 testing.

Quick response groups have been launched to serve the commune’s Covid-19 prevention activities. Security and military forces have also been arranged at Covid-19 checkpoints.

On Sunday midday, local authorities also confirmed another Covid-19 case.

Tan Lap has up to 25,000 people and is home to many businesses, posing a high risk for Covid-19 infection. So, it is necessary to impose stringent measures.
Hanoi has continued witnessing a rise in new Covid-19 cases, particularly those related to Thanh Xuan Trung Ward in Thanh Xuan District.
The capital city has reported 3,159 Covid-19 infections since the fourth outbreak occurred in late April. On Sunday, the city recorded the highest number of infections since the new outbreak started with 133 cases.
