Elsewhere, Japan was re-elected as chair of the POC and will be represented by Masahiko Metoki, vice-president of international affairs at Japan Post.
As a POC member, the country will have a golden opportunity to promote the role of a national postal enterprise in taking part in UPU activities. It will also help to solidify the position of Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPOST), with the nation now able to directly contribute to the development of the council’s policies.
It will also create a chance for Vietnam to expand bilateral cooperation with the POC Council’s member countries, as well as co-operation activities to improve the quality of infrastructure, services, and postal network in the future.
