The trader was given a quick test at the Trung Chau Commune Medical Station on August 27. The market will be closed until further notice. Local authorities have quickly arrived to disinfect the area, carry out contact tracing tasks and screen tests residents living around Ngoc Ha Market.

Hanoi Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention has issued a notice searching for people who went to Ngoc Ha Market from 3 am on August 21 to 5 pm on August 27. People have been advised to self-isolate at their homes and contact the nearest medical station if showing Covid-19 symptoms. They can also call 0969 082 115 or 0949 396 115 to Hanoi CDC or 0243 8432 113 for Ba Dinh Medical Station.

The trader is a woman born in 1969 and lives in Village 1, Dan Phuong District. She felt tired and had a fever on August 26.

From April 29 until now, Hanoi has reported 2,909 Covid-19 cases including 1,525 community cases and 1,384 cases in quarantine centres.
